Jillian
Hi, my name is Jillian and I am so excited to have caught your attention! I am a nineteen-year-old, full-time student at The College of New Jersey, majoring in Journalism/Professional Writing with a minor in Creative writing. At TCNJ I am on the executive Board for the College Union Board, responsible for booking many diverse campus activities, most importantly, concerts and comedy shows.
Although I have never considered myself to be musically-inclined, I must say I have been music-dependent for as long as I can remember. At the age of twelve, I managed to find my way onto the Van’s Warped Tour press list, and the rest is history. That summer, I interviewed two of my favorite bands: Taking Back Sunday and The All-American Rejects. At the time, it most definitely seemed like a joke for a mere child to obtain such prestigious interviews, but today, I think it speaks mountains about my perseverance. Pursuing a career in music journalism has always seemed the only option for me.
I have lived in New Jersey my entire life. My parents, friends, and the local New Jersey music scene have played a huge role in my attachment to music, most especially rock. I am lucky enough to live quite close to both New York City and Philadelphia, cities which are constantly calling my name to new venues and energetic tours.
I am a girly-girl, but I am a rocker at heart.
I am always up to give a new album or a band I have never heard of a listen.
